There are several things that are different with dogcatching westbound trains out Green River compared to Rawlins. Most importantly, no agreement specifies how it will be paid in Green River; Appendix B, Item O covers dogcatching in Rawlins. There are many claims to submit, so please follow this guide and pass any information to the appropriate claimant. There are two scenarios outlined below. The first is to deadhead east to the train and bring the train back to Green River. The second is to deadhead east of Rawlins and bring the train to Rawlins, getting relieved in Rawlins.
Ordered to Bring Train Back to Green River
Proper Pay
Trip Rate for the dogcatch - if crews are available on protecting board (RT70 if East of Black Buttes, XC13 if West of Black Buttes). - Claim below
Basic Day or Miles Run for the dogcatch - if no crews are available on protecting board.
Timekeeping will automatically change it to a basic day.
It is recommended that you get paid for the actual miles run, before claiming the trip rate. Take the easy money and then fight for the rest.
Trip Rate for the deadhead home.
All meals and held-away should be included on one of the two above timeslips.
